Oh nice! Pool parties are the best in summer. One theme that always hits is a “Tropical Luau” think tiki torches, leis, pineapple cups, reggae or island-style music, and some fun floaties (giant flamingos, palm trees, etc). Super easy to pull off and everyone gets into it.
Another fun one we did last year was a “Glow Night Swim”. Wait until sunset, throw in a bunch of glow sticks (sealed in balloons or waterproof containers), hang string lights, and hand out glow necklaces. People loved it plus it kept things going into the night without needing a full light setup.
Also: water games like pool volleyball, float races, or even a silly cannonball contest get people laughing. Just make sure you’ve got enough towels, shade, and snacks. Frozen drinks or a DIY popsicle bar are clutch when it’s hot out.

A tropical luau theme always gets people in a great mood think tiki torches, leis, and fruity drinks with little umbrellas. You can even set up a DIY taco or slider bar nearby to keep the snacks easy but tasty. Don’t forget some upbeat summer tunes and maybe a pool float race to get everyone laughing.

I once did a “retro pool party” with old-school beach balls, vintage sunglasses, and a playlist full of 80s and 90s hits. It was a hit! You could also do a glow-in-the-dark night party with LED floaties and string lights it turns the pool into this magical space after dark and makes for awesome photos. Definitely something guests will remember!

I hosted a pool party last summer, and keeping it simple worked best.
We went with a tropical theme, nothing over the top. Just some fruit, music, and a few decorations. People had a great time.
A couple of floats and good food made all the difference. You don’t need to do much. Just focus on a relaxed vibe, and everything else falls into place.
