Oh, I had a friend who tried to do a cannonball but completely missed the pool and landed in the grass. It was a mess, but we laughed for hours!

One time, I saw a guy jump into the pool from the deck, but he totally slipped before hitting the water! He landed flat on the deck and just laid there for a second, not sure if he was okay or just in shock. We couldn’t stop laughing, but he was definitely a bit embarrassed!

Oh, I’ve got one! Last summer, I tried to impress everyone with a graceful dive, but I completely misjudged the jump and belly-flopped instead. The splash was so big, I almost knocked over a drink on the poolside! My friends were in shock for a second, then they just burst out laughing. To make it even worse, my sunglasses flew off during the dive and landed in the pool. I tried to act like I meant to do it, but honestly, it was too funny to pretend!

Alright, here’s one that still gets brought up at every barbecue.
A couple of years ago, I was vacuuming the pool and had the hose laid out across the deck. While I stepped away for a second, my golden retriever, who has a weird obsession with anything that moves, decided the hose looked suspicious. He jumped on it, managed to pull the whole thing loose, and ended up falling into the shallow end. dragging half the gear with him.
Now the water’s splashing, the vacuum’s floating around useless, and the dog’s swimming in circles like he meant to do it. Meanwhile, I’m trying to grab everything without slipping, and of course my neighbor is standing there cracking up.
Lesson learned: if your dog’s curious and your pool hose is out, keep an eye on both.
Would love to hear other people’s stories too. I know I can’t be the only one with a chaotic pool moment!
