Do you have any funny pool & spa stories?

I once tried to inflate my pool float while in the pool, and it flew out of my hands and ended up stuck in the neighbor’s tree.
 
I have one for you. A few summers ago, I was lounging with a drink while floating on one of those large inflatable pizza slices. My lab, who believes he is a lifeguard, jumps into the pool as if he were saving my life. My drink goes flying, he knocks me off the float completely, and he paddles around with pride as if he saved the day.

Finally, my neighbor clapped like it was an Olympic dive after watching the entire thing. We have referred to him as "Baywatch Buddy" ever since. By the way, the float is still deflated.

Does anyone else have pets that view going to the pool as a rescue mission?

Absolutely! One time, my dog jumped in mid game of fetch, thinking the pool was grass,
Total surprise splash! Pools bring out the funniest unexpected moments.

Yeah definitely. One time I set up this big inflatable flamingo thinking it’d be a chill way to float around. Got on it once, it flipped instantly, and I ended up with a face full of water and zero dignity. My neighbors clapped. I just swam away like nothing happened.

My youngest thought it’d be a great idea to fill his goggles with gummy bears "for snacks underwater." He couldn’t see anything and just kept swimming into the wall. I had to pretend to be serious but I was dying inside.

Oh, I’ve definitely got a few! One time, I was trying to impress everyone with my amazing cannonball, but I ended up slipping right before I jumped and belly-flopped into the pool instead. The splash was so huge, it practically soaked everyone on the deck! I tried to play it off, but let’s just say I didn’t look as cool as I thought I would.

Also, my dog has a thing for pool floats. One time, he jumped right onto an inflatable flamingo, but he misjudged the landing and flipped it over, sending himself and the float drifting away. It was like a mini raft adventure, with him looking totally confused the whole time. Totally unforgettable!
 
Oh, I’ve got one! A few summers ago, I thought it’d be hilarious to set up a bunch of pool noodles as an “obstacle course” for some fun laps. Everything was going great… until my dog decided it was an excellent challenge too. He barreled through, knocked a couple noodles into the air, and I ended up face-first in the water mid-lap. My poor floaty drink went flying, and my dog just stood there wagging, like he had just won gold. 😅

Pools really do turn ordinary days into unforgettable chaos sometimes! Anyone else’s pets treat the pool like their personal playground?
