Best Unexpected Pool Upgrade

What’s one pool upgrade you made that seemed unnecessary at first but ended up being worth it?
Hey Juno! Funny you ask I once added underwater LED lights thinking it was just for looks, but it totally changed the vibe for evening swims and made the whole backyard feel way more inviting. Plus, it helps me see better at night for safety. What about others? Any surprise upgrades that really made a difference?

I added a small automated cleaner that I thought might be overkill, but it saved me so much time and effort. The pool stays cleaner between my manual cleanings, and honestly, I didn’t expect it to make such a noticeable difference!

Underwater LED lights really do make a huge difference, not just for looks but also for safety and ambiance. It’s a small upgrade that transforms the nighttime pool experience!

Totally agree! Those small automated cleaners can be surprisingly effective. They save a ton of time and keep the pool looking great between deep cleans, definitely worth the investment!

For me, it was the pool heater. I thought it would be a luxury I’d barely use, but it ended up extending the swimming season by months. Being able to take a warm dip in early spring or late fall completely changed how often we used the pool.

I used to think it was only worth it for cold climates, but even in mild weather, that extra warmth makes a huge difference. Now it feels less like a summer-only thing and more like a year-round retreat.

I’d say adding a pool cover was one of those upgrades I didn’t think I really needed, but it ended up being super worth it. At first, I thought it was just another hassle, but it really helps keep the pool cleaner by blocking debris, and it keeps the water warmer, too. Plus, it reduces how much I have to clean, so it’s definitely been a time-saver in the long run!

I didn’t think adding a pool cover would make such a difference, but wow, it’s been a game changer. It keeps the water cleaner and helps maintain the temperature so much better. Now, I can't imagine going without it!

For me, it was adding a couple of those simple wall-mounted towel warmers. I honestly thought it was a silly, “extra” upgrade when I bought them, but they turned out to be one of the best little perks.

Nothing fancy, just warm towels waiting when you hop out, especially on cooler evenings. It makes the whole pool routine feel way more comfortable, and everyone who visits ends up commenting on it.

Definitely one of those upgrades I didn’t expect to appreciate as much as I do.

For me, it was adding a couple of simple solar walkway lights around the pool. I only grabbed them because they were on sale, and I figured they’d be “nice to have,” but they ended up making evenings around the pool so much better. They add just enough light to make the whole area feel cozy without being too bright, and they help with visibility when you’re getting in and out at night. Small upgrade, but it really changed the vibe more than I expected.
